杯はお酒に映った月を「逆さ月」と呼んだことが語源で生まれた言葉。 粋な語源を持つ杯に、燕が持つ金属加工技術を生かした杯です。
2種類の金属を摩擦圧接加工をした金属の塊を削り出していくと、杯の中に二層目の銅が 円状に姿を現します。
杯にお酒を注ぎ, 中を覗くと水の屈折の効果に より、銅の円が浮かんで見え、杯の語源である「逆さ月」が室内で お酒を飲む際に楽しめるお猪口となっています。
粋な日本文化を感じながら、日本酒をより楽しむことができる杯です。

The Japanese word sakazuki (sake cup) is said to have originated from the poetic expression “sakasazuki,” or “inverted moon,” referring to the moon reflected on the surface of sake.
Inspired by this elegant origin, this sake cup is designed to showcase the advanced metalworking craftsmanship of Tsubame, Japan.

Two different metals are joined through friction welding and then precisely machined. As the material is carved away, a circular layer of copper gradually appears inside the cup.
When sake is poured and the cup is viewed from above, the refraction of the liquid makes the copper circle appear to float, evoking the “inverted moon” that inspired the cup’s name.
